Meet Kate
My Approach
My approach to therapy is very individualized. There is no “one size fits all,” as each person is different. I love to celebrate everyone’s unique humanity. With that, I draw from many different evidenced-based modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and person-centered therapy. During the first few sessions, I am trying to get a sense of where you are coming from as my client (individual or team), so I can meet you exactly where you are: (Why are you seeking therapy at this time? What are you hoping to get out of this experience? What has your previous experience with therapy been like?). The first session is also a time for you to begin to get a sense of my style. Even though the first session is typically more structured than most, it is a great way to start assessing my fit for you. The therapy space is for you, and therapist-client fit is a fundamental piece of the puzzle. Progress looks differently for everyone, and will be discussed collaboratively throughout our therapeutic relationship.
